Overview

The Humantay Lake Tour is one of the most popular excursions in Cusco for those who want to combine adventure, nature, and dreamlike landscapes in a single day. Located at over 4,200 meters above sea level, the lake stands out for its intense turquoise color and its privileged location at the foot of the snow-capped Humantay and Salkantay mountains, part of the majestic Andes mountain range. The trip begins very early from Cusco, heading to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. The trek to Laguna Humantay takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, on a trail surrounded by mountains, valleys, and pure Andean air. Although the ascent can be demanding due to the altitude, the reward upon arrival is indescribable: a crystal-clear lagoon that reflects the snow-capped mountains and transmits a unique energy. In addition to its natural beauty, this place has a deep spiritual significance for the local communities, who consider the lagoon a sacred space linked to Pachamama. Many travelers make offerings and perform rituals to thank Mother Earth in this magical setting. The Humantay Lake tour includes transportation, a professional guide, and meals, making it a complete experience to enjoy the day without any worries. It is ideal for those who enjoy trekking and want to experience direct contact with nature in Cusco. If you are looking for more mountain adventures, you can opt for the Mountain of Colors Tour on ATVs, a different way to reach unique landscapes. We also recommend the Trekking to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, perfect for lovers of high mountain hiking. And for a cultural experience, there is nothing better than the Sacred Valley Experience, where you can live with Andean communities.
